embodied leadership - an introduction
Embodied leadership, in essence, is about learning to bring your (authentic) whole being to work.
We communicate an awful lot, to ourselves and to others, through our bodies as well as our words. By becoming more aware of this, and developing the capability to broaden our range of whole-body-communication, we can have a powerful influence on our leadership success.
By developing our embodied leadership skill, we are able, amongst other things, to:
- be (not acting) more confident
- have (not pretending to have) greater gravitas
- create (not impose) positive impact on others
- influence (not force) others successfully
- control (not suppress) instinctive responses under pressure
Embodied leadership sits beautifully within our philosophy of doing is believing
Theory, models and intellectual knowledge is one thing; embodying those things is another all together.
